Sienna: common questions
Local answers on the community, schools, taxes and its former name.
Is Sienna its own city?
No. Sienna is a master-planned community within Missouri City, in Fort Bend County. Addresses there are Missouri City addresses, and city services are provided by Missouri City rather than by a separate municipality.
Why do some listings say Sienna Plantation?
The community was originally marketed as Sienna Plantation and later shortened its name to Sienna. Older listings, tax records and mapping data may still carry the longer name, so it is worth searching both when researching sold history for the area.
Do Sienna homes have MUD taxes?
Yes. Sienna is served by Municipal Utility Districts that levy their own property tax to fund water, sewer and drainage. Rates vary between districts within the community and generally decline as bonds are repaid, so ask which district a specific home sits in and what its current rate is.
Which schools serve Sienna?
Sienna is served by Fort Bend ISD. Attendance zones are redrawn periodically as new schools open within the community, so verify the current zoning for a specific address directly with the district.
